When a claim is asserted against one of CPA Mutual's 800-plus member firms, the Claims Team works with the member and local defense counsel to access potential liability and damages and achieve an appropriate resolution of the claim. The Claims Team also assists in the provision of risk management and other value-added services.
The Claims Team believes that claims service is a fundamental component of CPA Mutual's mission to provide a quality and lasting solution to the professional liability insurance needs of its members. As part of the first national mutual insurance company owned and managed by CPAs, Claims Administration has unique insight into member needs. Each claim is viewed as an opportunity to distinguish CPA Mutual from other insurers and demonstrate our dedication to personal service and the prompt, open and ethical handling of member claims.
The Claims Team is deeply committed to honoring member obligations and believes that each claim must be evaluated and handled in accordance with the unique facts, circumstances, legal considerations and member needs presented. Where an aggressive defense of a non-meritorious claim is appropriate, the Claims Team is prepared to defend members without compromise. Where a member error has clearly damaged another party, however; the Claims Team is equally committed to achieving a prompt and fair resolution with a minimum of inconvenience to the parties involved. This individualized approach to claims management not only helps to ensure the highest standards of personal service, but it also fosters case outcomes which appropriately balance the individual and collective interests of member firms.
